-ABOUT JOSH YOUD-
Josh is a Neo-Classical orchestral-hybrid composer based in the UK. He draws visual and textural influence from the organic landscapes of his home – The High Peak District, to shape a beautifully melancholic collage of sound that blends the romantic melodicism of Rachmaninoff with the emotional intimacy of Nick Drake and Elliott Smith.
With over 10 years musical experience, Josh has composed for Films, Animations, Exhibitions, Podcasts and Games and was nominated for the CIG Award in 2024. Josh has worked on both UK and internationally based projects, with a recent project being based in North America.
From The Smiths and Joy Division to Max Richter and Bulgarian Folk, Josh draws from his many influences to craft something unique and new, prioritising the capture of unique emotions, memories and feelings that he feels cannot be expressed through words.
Josh’s most recent soundtrack for the film – Forever & Always is comfortingly sad. A shining example of his rich sound and unique approach to capturing aching beauty in his composition.
